2015? You mean we’re in the future?

#BackToTheFuture

I am jumping on the bandwagon as I have decided to dedicate my today’s post to a cult movie and to welcome Marty Mc Fly to 2015! Welcome Marty, bienvenido, benvenuto, wilkommen, bienvenue!

The movie came out when I was ONLY 7 years old (It does somehow make me feel better about my age when I stress on only, go figure) so I cannot claim to have been the first generation of fans. But since we only had three channels available and the main channel showed Back To The Future (1, 2 & 3) at least once a year, I can proudly confirm that I have seen the sequel at least 20 to 25 times! Boom! (Still debating whether I should be proud of this though… Imagine on my dating profile: fun fact about myself? I have watched BTTF 25 times. Huge turn on or turn off?!)

Some of us won’t admit it but this movie was brilliant and I am guessing most of us loved this sequel because:

  1. Who would not have wanted to be able to time travel or to own a “hoverboard”?
  2. Dr. Emmet Brown was a freaking legend “If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 miles per hour… you’re gonna see some serious shit”
  3. Marty was pretty hot for the 80’s (Come on, no judging, kids! I wouldn’t judge you if you had a crush on Justin Bieber… Ok maybe a little… all right point taken, I would definitely laugh at you. Oops)

The day is almost over (at least in our time zone) and this craziness around BTTF will eventually come to end BUT don’t worry if you are not quite ready to let your nostalgia go, you can always rent / buy a VHS! Ah shoot, wrong time period! I meant netflix it! One last question tho before you go back to 1989, no cheating… Do you know how many DeLorean DMC-12 were produced before the company went out of business?

Oh and and if you have one or two minutes to spare, check the Michael J Fox foundation, they are trying to find a cure for the Parkinson’s disease and any support is much appreciated. If you cannot donate because you have already donated to another cause, thank you anyway! Your generosity will help some other patients and this is what matters! All together against diseases for a healthier future, this is what the Marty from 1985 would have wanted, right?

Happy trails and remember: Carpe Diem!
